The Miracle Tape Process works by the application of medical adhesive tape being applied directly to the skin. This tape is applied in a very scientific and systematic way that allows the muscles to directly communicate to the brain to change the muscle tone to a more normal muscle tone pattern. The pattern that the tape is laid down in is very critical. This pattern has been patented (as well as patent -pending , since there are several techniques) due to its novel technique. No one in the past has been able to create this specific pattern that we use to change muscle tone.
The change in the muscle tone will allow muscles to contract that had low tone (were loose) and allow muscles to relax that had high tone (were tight). This allows the patient to now contract muscles groups they were unable to in the past. The muscles are in more balance, allowing for a more fluid and normal movement pattern to occur. It also will significantly decrease or eliminate pain that existed in tight muscles that had high tone. This method has long term results, even after stopping the application of the tape. The brain is able to remember the new commands and continues to change the muscle tone in a more normal way.
I developed the Miracle Tape method due to the following problems :
I felt it would be advantageous to come up with a taping method that was able to elicit and inhibit muscle tone, that was effective and was able to produce both short and long-term results. This would assist in the recovery of neurological and orthopedic injuries. It would also be advantageous to have an established known pattern that was repeatable and had predictable results. In other words, it would be a true theoretical taping process. Furthermore, the taping method would be best to encompass and show efficacy in all ages of the human population that had any neurological or orthopedic disorder.
Miracle Tape was developed by Charise Vacca PT, DPT. She began practicing physical therapy in 1989 and started a private practice in 2001. As a private practice owner, she felt compelled to come up with many creative ways to treat neurological patients. This encouraged her to expand her knowledge specifically in the neurological arena. She went back to graduate school to obtain her Doctor of physical therapy from Chatham University in 2011. She practiced and developed Miracle Tape on her patients in her private practice setting.
